Hair Restoration With Prp
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a medical treatment that involves injecting one’s own blood plasma to an area of concern to help promote tissue or cell repair. In medicine, it is often used for arthritis, treat sports injuries, and many more. In aesthetics, platelet rich plasma can be used for collagen stimulation to help improve skin texture in tone such as for fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and more. PRP can also be used to help stimulate inactive hair follicles to help promote hair growth.

How does it work? Each appointment begins with a consultation where we are able to discuss your concerns and treatment goals. We will then assess those areas of concerns and determine the most appropriate type of dermal filler to use. Dermal fillers come in different viscosity and the type of filler used will be dependent on the area being treated. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve your desired goal.
-
Does it hurt?Topical anesthetic will be applied for at least 10-15 minutes prior to injection. Dermal fillers often have lidocaine infused in it, acting as a local anesthetic during injection. Depending on the technique, a very fine needle or a blunt tip cannula will be used to minimize discomfort. Lexxsthetics also offers complete nerve block upon request if required.
-
How long does it last? Results are seen immediately, but best results are after 7-10 days. Dermal fillers can last anytime between 6-12 months, depending on the area being treated.
-
What are the risks?Allergic reactions are rare since most dermal fillers are made out of a natural compound found in our bodies, hyaluronic acid. Redness, swelling and bruising can be expected as it is your body’s natural reaction to trauma from punctures. On rare cases, vascular occlusion can occur when the filler occludes a vessel or an artery leading to tissue necrosis if not treated immediately. If a vascular occlusion occurs, it is often recognized immediately, for up to the first 72 hours. The great thing about hyaluronic acid fillers is that they are dissolvable with its antidote, hyaluronidase. At Lexxsthetics, we always have this on hand and would not proceed to inject unless we have this in stock!
-
Can I resume normal daily activities after my appointment?Swelling and bruising can be expected for roughly 3-5 days post treatment. Dermal fillers take about 14 days for full healing, but normal daily activities can be resumed immediately after. We do however, ask to avoid strenuous exercise immediately after. It is also advised to avoid flying on airplanes for at least 14 days to prevent migration of filler that may occur under extreme air pressure.
-
Who is the best candidate?Individuals ages 20 and up are the best candidate for dermal fillers! Any one looking to restore hydration, volume, symmetry and overall achieve harmony to their faces are ideal candidates for this treatment. Areas that dermal fillers can treat include, but not limited to lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, temples, nose, under eyes and more.
